Since I am too busy doing more fun things, here’s a quick report with some of my highlights of the past few months…
Gencon 2009: Nerd convention and Cosplay awards. Besides expanding my autograph collection (got me some actors from Battlestar Galactica this year YAY!) This year I taught myself to sew, so I could enter my first cosplay contest (with help from some late night video conferencing with my mum- thanks mum!)
On Gencon: Sunday Brisbane SciFi & Fantasy (my nerd crew) took out first place in the Cosplay competition for our Super Mario skit (I was Toadette). I’ve updated my ‘Fun Photo’s’ page so you should now be able to check it out.
Latin Dancing: I am officially addicted. -Not as bad as some people who practically live at the studio and take lessons almost every day (*Alex*) but that’s only because I can’t currently afford the extra lessons
Thrill The World: This is a worldwide synchronised event where people gather together in groups of several hundred or more, dressed as zombies, and dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. This year is was in Brisbane square, to raise money for Camp Quality. I only heard about this at the last minute so I went as a zombie-supporter to some friends, but next year I’ll definitely be thrilling it up for charity!
Sweded Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Our sweded Star Wars, and sweded X-Men films were so much fun that we HAD to make another one. This time we did over the original 90′s version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was Master Tatsu- Shredder’s second-in-command. So I played an angry, bald, asian dude. That’s 4 things I’m NOT so it was very interesting! Much giggling and hilarity ensued. It should be out on Youtube in January sometime.…and a collection of various other parties & trips to the beach. (And yes, I DO work as well!
)
