Goddess of luck strikes again at Zouk & the City!

by ~Space Fairy~ on February 15, 2010

The universe must really, really, really want me to keep latin dancing because I keep winning free dance lessons! At my dance school’s christmas party I won a term of Tango lessons, and this past Friday night I won another term of dancing- this time Zouk (love zouk!) from another dance school. I’m still not entirely sure how I won it, during a dance-off where there were other people were clearly better dancers than me, but yay anyway! The event was Zouk & The City nightclub, and this time they had a theme:  Jocks & Cheerleaders VS. Nerds! I didn’t have much notice to get a costume together, but I still managed to dig out my old Star Trek communicator badge from my old trekkie days (geeks rule!) My dance buddy Kat Lam won first prize, which included a free dinner package with the restaurant where the party was held. We had to dance zouk together at the end which was most interesting! Here are some photos, courtesy of Facebook…

Enjoy :-)

NEIS program + New Business Ventures

by ~Space Fairy~ on February 5, 2010

Hey y’all! (I just felt like testing out a new greeting. Too Beverly Hillbilly-ish?)

Well, I’m not giving up on this dream of being an entrepreneur. It’s something I’ve been working towards for many years now (ever since I repackaged talcom powder into plastic bags and tried to sell them to my friends as ‘magicians dust’ when I was 7!) It’s scary and different and I feel like I don’t really know what I’m doing. They never taught us how to start a business at school, it wasn’t encouraged in my family, and everywhere I turn around people seem to be saying to me “too risky!” and trying to convince be to just get a job. Well bugger them!

Paranormal Activity

January 3, 2010

I normally don’t watch horror movies because I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to gore, so the title “Scariest movie ever” isn’t something I’d normally be attracted to. However, I am also not one to turn down free preview tickets.
So off I went to the cinema, with my two besties and goth [...]
