• I was pondering: my whole stressful situation recently with my desire to make positive career and life changes (but feeling trapped by my job and lack of money, which, combined with all my stressing, and the big life change of moving house recently, has left me feeling unbalanced and temporarily depressed).
• What to do about it/ The Answer: Do a bit and practice everyday so that I don’t feel overwhelmed. Make positive changes one step at a time, day by day in the direction of my dreams.
• Where I’m headed if I follow the guidance of the 2nd card: My dreams will come true in Perfect Timing (I was a little fuzzy on this one at first).

Then, when I asked for additional guidance about this reading I got:

• “Summer” (”Everything that you’re asking for becomes yours in the Summertime…”) “You’ve drawn this card because you wonder when your desires will manifest. This card represents the reassurance that your wishes have been heard, and divine timing is clearing the way for your answered prayers to come to you at the perfect time. In this case, you’ll fully realise your dreams in the Summer”

• (Additional Notes: While randomly shuffling, the “Son” card popped up a couple of times, but its meaning perplexed me, so I ignored it. I was a bit concerned that it showed up in the same reading as the pregnancy card though!)

This morning on my way to work I saw a guy outside in the pouring rain, smoking a cigarette while hanging out washing.

Then my bus ride into the city took and hour and a half rather than the usual 20 minutes. Late for work again ;p

Then I bought a coffee and they gave me a dodgy lid so that it spilled all over me and the showroom floor at work when I eventually arrived.

What a weird day!

Upon reconnecting with my business visualization from Lesson 1…

WHY is it important to me that I achieve this?

Because I am connected with my passions, and every day that I go to “work” I feel that I am fulfilling my life mission and exercising my Divine Right of Creation.

How will I FEEL when I make this real?

Content, fulfilled, peaceful & grounded, uplifted, joyous, inspired, excited, grateful, abundant, healthy, balanced, blissful and filled with awe.

Why am I committed to do so?

• Because my life demands that I live on purpose (inspiring others to live magickal joy-filled lives).
• Whenever I do this I feel blissful, serene, awe-inspired, and connected to my source.
• Whenever I don’t do this I feel bad, like I’m wasting my time at worst, and at best ’spinning my wheels’ while procrastinating, waiting, and dreaming of when I’ll “someday” have the guts and determination to live my life on purpose.
• In short- doing this feels like Bliss, and not doing it feels like crap!

“MY WHY”

Why have I created my entrepreneurial dream?

All of my experiences in life so far have taught me that having an average J.O.B. while working for others (and letting their dreams and goals dictate what I do day in, day out) is NOT conducive to making me feel fulfilled or living my life on purpose, which is very important to me.

The only exception to this was when, for a short time a few years ago, I occasionally helped out Leela (CEO of Metier Media) in the Office of ‘Spheres: The Spirit Guide’ magazine. While working here:

• I was Inspired and Inspiring.
• Surrounded by my favorite spiritual books (which the magazine was selling)
• My job involved Writing, which is one of my major passions.
• I got to work alongside some of the best and well-known mentors in the industry.
• I had the opportunity to contact and work with some of my favorite, best-selling authors and spiritual teachers from around the world.
• I even got to have a creative say in the development of their new “SpellCraft” magazine.
• Most importantly, not only was I doing work that I enjoyed, but I felt the bliss that comes from sharing my talents and Inspiring others.
• When readers of “Spheres” began sending me letters, I was given my own, regular column in the magazine, and soon after, I became contributing author for the “Spheres Angel Wishing Kit”.

My entrepreneurial dream involves directly working with my favorite “magick books” (as I like to call them), books, CD’s, and DVD’s by the best spiritual authors, as well as creating my own online publication, all while I write my own Book. I currently believe that the business in this vision is the perfect platform for me to Live my Bliss, Inspire others, and help to improve countless lives (including my own) while I’m at it.

So that’s why!

I really enjoyed Lesson 2 of the ‘Getting Started’ course. Everytime I do an exercise in which I have to connect with my dream, I feel closer to achieving it

What would make me very happy:

(ASAP…)

• I no longer have to attend my day job. Somehow, from somewhere, in perfect timing & order, Scott and I have received enough money and resources, so that every day I can focus on creating my brilliant business.
• I am becoming more disciplined in my daily Yoga practice. I am increasing in health and in strength every day.

(Within the next 2 months…)

• The move into our house (in August) goes smoothly and easily. The new house is perfect for us.
• We have successfully and easily manifested a fridge, washing machine, new couch, and maybe even a television.
• My new home office is set up, and even includes a laser printer and scanner/ photocopier.
• My business successfully “opens its (virtual) doors” in August, just after our move. I already have an abundance of customers within the first week, and with operations going smoothly, I am now able to focus more on marketing, P.R., and getting the word out online.

(Within the next 6 months…)

• My business is growing so successfully that I am now able to hire a part time assistant to help with the running and maintaining of the business.

(Within the next year ~and a half…)

• My business is so successful that I am now able to hire one or two full time assistants to help with the running and maintaining of the business.
• Scott and I are receiving enough extra income to allow us to start renovating our house!
• Scott and I are getting married, and can afford to get our relatives together for a mighty shindig celebration. We can even afford to go on a honeymoon somewhere nice (which by the way would be our first “proper” holiday away together).

What will I do almost anything to avoid:

• Being broke, and in this position of being scared of not having enough money.
• Getting stuck in a J.O.B. (what Robert Kiyosaki calls “Just Over Broke”) and stuck in a position where I’m not fulfilling my passions or working toward my dreams.
• Feeling like I’m wasting my life by not living on purpose.
• Sharehouse Living again (with anyone other than my sweetheart)
• Apartment Living (unless it’s new so it doesn’t flare my allergies, has plenty of space, and quiet neighbors)
• Getting Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ M.E. or Depression again.

Well I’ve never had a business lesson which involved duct tape before. For a while there I was kind of wondering what I’d gotten myself involved in! hehe. But anyway, here goes…

According to this self analysis thingy, “You are in touch with your dreams and have a great deal going for you. (Well Duh!) The course is probably all you need to begin pulling it all together to make those dreams come true”. (Hooray!)

Here is the breakdown of my current totals from the assessment:

• Resources: 2/7 (Gulp!)

• Status Quo: 4/5 (not entirely sure what this means?)

My Business 1 Year from Today
Today is the 25th June 2009, and my business is booming! I am in my new home office, in our recently renovated home, consulting with my support team (yes- the business has grown so much that I have had to employ staff to cope with the high demand for our services!) Together we are discussing last minute preparations for the company’s first trade-show experience, this weekend when we are exhibiting at the Mind Body Spirit Festival. We are well on our way to becoming the number one, most popular holistic/ new age store on the Internet, and our free Magazine has one of the largest subscriber bases for its kind in Australia (over 20,000) and is taking off Internationally as well as we expand into the American Market. At least one of our team members is a well-known, best-selling author and speaker. Each of us absolutely loves the work that we are doing together, and we are grateful that so many blessings are coming out of it, and that together, we are making a positive impact on thousands of lives around the world.

Tonight we got my engagement ring! I’m so excited, I have to show everyone!!

My passion is inspiring people to live magickal, joy- filled lives. I am now creating the largest “book temple” (that’s book shop- I love books!) on the Internet, specializing in tools designed to inspire people from all over the world to live their best lives imaginable!
I have some really big ideas, and the passion to make it happen. I’ve got most of the skills I’ll need, and I’m outsourcing the rest. I am a marketing goddess. I’ve done my business and market research, and I’m really excited because this is going to be HUGE!

The website is almost ready to go, the suppliers are lined up, the offline publicity efforts sorted, and I’ve already got future customers (“fans”) knocking down my door waiting for
me to get started. The logistics are sorted, the technology set up, the business and marketing plan almost ready to go, and the home office will be set up when my new fiancé and I move into our first home next month (excitingness!)

Of course I don’t yet have all the funding required to actually get totally set up yet but that’s just a minor detail, soon to be rectified as I am quite creative and resourceful (and majored in Creative Industries and Business Entrepreneurship at university- not that all of it was that useful it turns out).

Well it seems I was right. Amazing new things are happening for me as my life continues to transform in the direction of my dreams.

The moving thing: On the weekend I officially moved into Scott’s apartment. It’s a temporary move (with my stuff in storage) until we move into our own house in August (be prepared for a massive engagement & housewarming party!)

The Scholarship: It’s called The New Order Business School (Or No BS for short!) The competition was fierce, and in the end they actually awarded the scholarship to three recipients (I was one of them). They specialise in teaching all that good stuff which you need to learn to be successful in business, but which you’ll likely never learn from school or university (I certainly didn’t, and I went to one of the “best” universities in the country). I might not get a government certified degree at the end of this, but I’m learning from really successful business people who have made it and are already living the life of their dreams- the kind of people I want as mentors.

Getting engaged to My Soulmate!!! -So sweet it deserves it’s own post! What can I say- he’s my honey. We’ve got soo much in common and being with him just feels like home. I finally have someone to share my life with and it feels GOOD. My super-sparkly diamond engagement ring is almost off lay-by… be prepared to be dazzled with lots of photos soon!

Okay… I have a lot of catching up to do here so get ready for a rapid succession of posts within a short period of time! YAY

There are stirrings on the etheric plane that something big is coming. It’s on the table; in the works, but I’m not quite ready yet to say what it is.

But it’s going to be HUGE… hopefully……

but if not, at least it will be SUPER FUN

The reason why the homes of incarnated fairies are always messy is because they still carry a strong disposition to living amidst nature… with leaves landing wherever the wind carries them (it may seem disorderly but in reality it’s all perfect) and where twigs fall onto the forest floor and it’s okay for them to stay there (indeed, it’s actually preferred that they stay there because it makes great compost).

The whole “Stepford Wives”- kind of perfect modern home with everything in it’s place as humans have proclaimed it- now that is unnatural.

P.S. Today I learned how to make Plasma using my microwave oven

What a weird month. I’ve dumped the old boyfriend, traded up to a new one, rediscovered how awesome Star Trek is, pissed off my former best friends because I have no more patience for men who treat women badly, started the hunt for a new city apartment, and had he flu to top it all off- twice. Yay.

All up though, I’m feeling pretty good at the moment. Work’s going well, my new (younger) boyfriend is awesome and I genuinely haven’t been so happy with a guy for many years. I’ve gone back to my nerdy roots (where I belong) and I finally made that pink Transformers T-Shirt I’ve been talking about for a while. But yeah, all this change has made me a bit distracted, so if you haven’t heard from me for a while that’s probably why! P.S. At Christmas I visited the town where I grew up, in the Blue Mountains (west of Sydney). I hadn’t been back there in 10+ years. I climbed down a freak’n mountain! (Enjoy the photos!) Recently I discovered an old school assignment, which gives perfect insight into what the Blue Mountains means to me. As you can see I have been into fairies for a long time!

In my home town Katoomba, on top of a cliff, I am but a child. At the bottom of the cliff, on the rainforest floor, I am transformed. The Scenic Railway carriage that rides vertically down the mountain is a magical vessel traveling through the veil between the worlds. When my ride has cleared the dark tunnel through the rocks, I emerge into the sunlight feeling freer and more magical than before.

The world up there is about primary school, homework, and teachers, but down here it is my world where I am the Fairy Queen of the Blue Mountains. Down here is my playground, where I swing on vines like Tarzan; it is my music hall, where I listen to the symphony of hundreds of species of birds; it is my art gallery, where I admire the unusually shaped rocks that have been carved out by the wind and running water; and it is my mystery school, where I learn the ancient esoteric wisdoms and the magickal arts, that are whispered to me on the wind.

Lyrebirds pick at the leaves in the damp earth. Sunshine filters through the treetops high above me. The air here is the freshest you will find anywhere in New South Wales, and perhaps even Australia. Away from the tourist tracks, there are no other people here- it’s just me, the trees, the bush animals, and the fairies. Moss covered rocks line a clear pool where water gushes from a crack in the wall above it. This is my magickal fairy well. Whoever drinks of these waters shall enjoy eternal life. My fairy friends dart around me; they are dancing on the surface of the water and jumping amidst the green stones. A freshwater yabby crawls across the bottom of the pool. The fairies scatter away so they don’t get eaten.

I leave the area that the tourists know about and walk alone into the wilderness. I’m not afraid of getting lost. This is my home. This is my blood. I feel safe here. I could curl up and go to sleep on a rock amongst the ferns and the birds, who are my friends, would alert me of any danger.

There is an old mine-shaft, guarded by thick iron bars. At one time, during the shale-mining era, this entrance led to a tunnel that ran deep underneath this mountain and exited into the Megalong Valley. My dad said there were glow worms inside. He saw them when he came here to play as a boy, before the bars were put here in the 70’s. My dad even crawled inside here and signed his name on an old metal coal skip that he found. I wonder if it’s still there, and if he saw the underground fairy kingdom that some say lies beneath this mountain.

Every now and then, while playing down here, I’d find another piece of history. Metal cables lie half buried in the earth, which have been here since the days of the original aerial ropeway, called “The Flying Fox”, in 1885. I find pieces of the metal cable that snapped, when the whole thing came crashing down to earth here over one hundred years ago. Nearby lies an old metal skip that has not moved since the day it fell from the sky. It’s still full to the brim with coal. I wonder why, in all this time, no one has tried to retrieve this mess, which is scattered throughout the entire valley. Then I remember that I’m in the middle of the rainforest, far away from human civilisation. Mum would freak if she realised how far I’d come, alone.

Nearby, back on the tourist track, is the base of the Great Landslide. Looking upward to the top of the cliff makes me dizzy it’s so high. I’m surrounded by boulders the size of houses. Standing here makes me a little nervous as there is still a minor split in the earth far above me; however my dad proclaimed it safe enough the day he stepped over the deep split then jumped up and down on the protruding rock like he was daring it to fall. You’d think that someone who grew up around cliffs wouldn’t be afraid of heights, but not me. I was so petrified; I closed my eyes until he returned safely to solid land. There hasn’t been a major rock fall here since the 1930’s, but I can’t help thinking that the evil bush wizards might see this as an opportunity to rid this land of its beloved fairy queen. Afraid, I hurry through the rubble- laden path, and emerge to where the path is clear, triumphant again that I have evaded the curse of the evil rock wizard.

Nearby is my own private mining station where, alongside my minion of elves and dwarves, I dig for stones and fossils. These magickal rocks are characterised by the imprint of fossilised leaves. I will later carry the best of these specimens back home with me to the top of the cliff, back to the normal realm, and use them as part of the spells and magickal potions that I like to mix up in my backyard. I’d then write the results of these spells, things like “I made the wind change direction”, into my handmade magickal spell book, written in the invisible ink of lemon juice. This made much more sense to me than pointless activities like watching television.

 When playtime was over in my mystical kingdom on the forest floor, I’d take my latest fossil finds and any other treasures I found, like brightly coloured bird feathers, and ride back up the side of the cliff, and out through the magickal cave.

At the top there are people bustling all around the tourist centre. Happy families taking photographs and buying souvenirs. I say goodbye to my aunt who works at the ticket booth, then head towards my home, which is on the highest hill on top of the cliff.

The tourists think they know the Blue Mountains after buying a map and going for a bushwalk along the designated tracks. But they have no idea what is really down there, or of my secret playing spots. If they did, then I, the Fairy Queen of the Blue Mountains, would have an awful lot of human refugees in my kingdom.

The Speech I was meant to say:

“Hi, I’m Melinda Maxfield. I am a networker, uni student and soon-to-be author. Jenny and Arthur are amazing business mentors. They have repeatedly gone out of their way to help me, and this has included driving up from the Gold Coast to Brisbane twice a week to counsel me while helping me to start my team. They are awesome and I really appreciate everything they’ve done for me…”

(Now I am on stage, I notice that among those giving me a standing ovation are 30+ multi-millionaires sitting in the front row, followed by half a team of really hot looking professional footballers whom I’ve previously only seen on TV…)

So, What I said instead:

“I have no idea what it was I was going to say… but I’m really excited to be here!!”

(Cheering and wild applause!)

…and off goes giggly Mel to find the nearest Toastmasters meeting…

Q. “So in this business of yours do you actually DO any work?”

A. “Sure I do. In fact, I’m working right now”.

Q. “So are these cocktails tax deductible?”

A. “Let’s find out!”

Who says business meetings are boring? Hot guys in business suits, including the Gold Coast Titans, sparkles, fancy resorts and COCKTAILS!!! *Who wants to join my business?* ;p

Today I ate lunch with the Brisbane Broncos (including their manager). I’m still not sure who they all are but at this rate I’m likely to get to know them better. I still dislike sports.
